Features & Limitations

The honest, current answer to “what does True Travel AI actually do today?” Nothing on this page is aspirational — every line describes shipped, working behavior, verified on a real WordPress install.

What’s included

✓

AI destination generation and publishing

Create a destination by name and country; the plugin writes the full page, attaches a featured image, and can publish it or leave it as a draft.

✓

Rich frontend destination rendering

A dedicated page layout — hero, overview, top attractions, itineraries, travel essentials, related destinations — served on the real front end, not just in the editor.

✓

SEO output

Title, meta description, canonical URL, sitemap entry, and schema.org structured data, generated with the content. Plays well with Yoast SEO / Rank Math if either is active — it steps aside rather than double-printing meta tags.

!

TravelPayouts flight offers and click tracking

Real flight prices and booking links from TravelPayouts appear on a destination page once your TravelPayouts credentials and a flight search origin are set, and that specific destination has a “Nearest airport code” set on its edit screen. Nothing generates that airport code automatically today. Once it’s set, every click is tracked and reported.

✓

Scheduled destination refresh

A daily automatic check re-generates content and SEO fields on destinations old enough to need it, using the same quality rules as manual generation. Any single destination can be excluded from this sweep.

✓

Licensing and update delivery

Enter your license key once on the License screen. The plugin checks it automatically and delivers updates while the license is active.

What’s not currently included

✕

Hotel affiliate booking / commission integration

TravelPayouts’ own hotel search API was permanently retired by the provider in October 2025. There is no working hotel affiliate/commission path in this release. (A separate, unrelated “Hotels” content type exists for manually listing places to stay, but it carries no affiliate link or tracking.)

✕

Booking.com / Expedia / other hotel networks

No integration exists for any hotel-specific affiliate network.

✕

Automatic discovery or scheduled creation of new destinations

The plugin never decides on its own to create a new destination. Every destination starts from a name and country you provide. Scheduled refresh (above) only updates destinations that already exist.

✕

Pending Review / Scheduled publishing

Only Draft and Publish are real, selectable publishing outcomes.

✕

Additional AI content providers

OpenAI is the only AI provider.

✕

Automatic airport-code acquisition for flight offers

Neither acquisition source (Wikipedia or OpenTripMap) supplies a destination’s nearest airport code, and generation does not infer one. Without it, flight offers are silently omitted from that destination’s page — not an error, just an empty section — even with TravelPayouts credentials and a flight search origin fully configured. Set the “Nearest airport code” field on a destination’s edit screen manually to enable flight offers for it.

Licensing behavior, plainly

While your license is active: everything above under “What’s included” works normally.

If your license expires or becomes invalid:

  • New content generation stops (single destination, bulk, and discovery-assisted generation).
  • The scheduled refresh sweep stops dispatching new refresh work.
  • Plugin updates stop.
  • Everything already published keeps working exactly as before: pages stay online, SEO output keeps rendering, flight offers keep showing (on any destination that already has an airport code set), click tracking keeps working, and no existing content is changed, hidden, or deleted.
A temporary network problem reaching the license server never triggers any of the above — only a confirmed invalid or expired response does. If your site briefly can’t reach the license server, nothing changes.

Renewing or reactivating your license automatically restores generation, refresh, and updates — nothing needs to be regenerated or re-published; the site simply resumes where it left off.
